School, routine, life and change

These past few weeks being back at School have been a mixture of emotions, new routines running around like a manic mum and changes.

LB has been struggling at school, the new teacher, classroom and routine have and still is causing some real upset. LB is still trying to get used to dressing in the junior uniform. We have a list made up in order of what she has to put on first getting dressed otherwise it’s too overwhelming and it she gets upset.

BB is finally knuckling down with her school work. She is taking year 9 more seriously which I am really please at.

We are having a brick built conservatory being built. We are currently midway through an estimated 4 week time of completion and it’s already getting on my nerves. I want it done already!

We are also getting a new carpet for our stairs and hallway upstairs. We have been living here for over 5 years and it’s the only thing we haven’t replaced, it really needs doing.

BB has joined Cadets. She tends to flit from one thing to another so we’ll see how long she stays at this. I do hope she will stick to this, It is full of opportunity for her educationally and socially plus all that strict behaviour they expect might actually reign her attitude in at home too (wishful thinking for a teen?), probably! – Update, she went once, loved it that night. The morning after – does not want to go back again

I’ve been learning to look after my skin (i’m not getting any younger) which I wrote about here.

I have just started a Holistic Practitioner course so I can find out more about the different holistic therapies available out there and how they can benefit us. I am using my weekly planner so I can plan what evenings I am going to either study or blog.

Change for children can be really challenging bless them. She is settling down when at school but has decided she doesn’t like school anymore as it’s boring lol!

I was thinking my son may have problems transitioning from FS to year 1, but touch wood he is doing so well. I’m sure as he gets older the struggle will be there though!

Thereโ€™s always a swift change in the home life once the little ones go back to school! It used to make me envious seeing them sleep away while I got up for work but It helps everyone getting up at the same time now!

I bet it’s tough getting up when the others are still sleeping, Mr B hates it over half term.
