4 things in January that made me happy

January can be a really tough month. Money is tight after Christmas, all the bills seems to arrive altogether, payday takes forever to arrive and generally moods can be low.

Yep it can seem like January is the worst month yet even in the thick of it, there is always something that can make you happy!

I think it’s important to find things what make you happy, it is far too easy to only see the negatives which does nothing to keep a healthy mindset.

1.I have spent quite some time this month working ‘me’ out. I have started swimming lessons to beat my fear of water. You can read about it here.

2.We as a family went to see Horrible Histories – Awful Egyptians live on stage. I wasn’t sure what to expect but we all really enjoyed it. The second part was even in 3D!

3.As much as I hate the cold it snowed! Finally those beautiful white flurries of snow came down and greeted us. Not for long as in Surrey/London borders snow doesn’t last long but it was nice to see it while it was here.

4.I have found my passion for reading again. I’m not sure why I stopped to be honest. I think I just became too busy in my head to think about taking time out for me and what I enjoy.

So, what made you happy in January? I would love to know!

We have enjoyed my son’s birthday this month. He said it was his best birthday ever, even though we kept it simple.

January has been a fairly quiet month for us. I have been working a lot plus we did go to Mexico over Christmas so I can’t complain.

January was far too long! Usually, months go by so quickly! We agreed to start making plans for a house extension which is super exciting for us, so that made up for the hard Jan!
